Yesterday, we started our summer cooking class over at Living Well In Podium. I was so happy that we had a very good attendance and all the kids were very excited to cook and bake!
Here's the classroom before the students arrived.
Then here, the kids take turns making their own smoothies.
Day 2, today we started the class by making the meatballs for the spaghetti. I grouped the kids into 2 groups and assisted them in making their meatballs.
To make uniform size meatballs, I made the kids use an ice cream scooper to scoop out the mixture then had them roll it with their hands to make nice round balls.
After rolling the meatballs, we fried them slightly to give them a golden color. Then, we made the tomato sauce, simmered it for a few minutes. As soon as the tomato sauce was done, we added the meatballs in the sauce and cooked it for another 5-10 minutes.
Here's our finished product with the spaghetti noodles. Everyone loved it with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. We also made spinach and artichoke dip with triangle toasts.
For the last recipe, we made cheesy garlic bread.
We made our spread from scratch and topped it with grated mozzarella cheese, baked it in the oven for 10-15 minutes,
